Game 2 for Phil Kessel as a Toronto Maple Leafs, and Jonas Gustavsson will get his 6th start of the season. I think it is safe to say that he has beat out Toskala for the #1 job in Toronto.
1st Period: Gustavsson does not look good tonight, he looks very uncomfortable out there something we have not seem from him in a game this year. 2 bad penalties and some sloppy play have lead to the Leafs being behind 2-0. I hope Wilson is letting into them because they need to hear it.
Toronto Goals:
No Scoring
Toronto Penalties:
#14 Matt Stajan
#2 Luke Schenn
Carolina Goals:
#16 Brandon Sutter
#14 Sergei Samsonov
Carolina Penalties:
No Penalties
2nd Period: Much better period by the Leafs in that one, Gustavsson played a lot better as well. Kessel looks dog tired which was quite evident at the end of the period after he gave the puck away. The Leafs definitley have to be more physical on the cycle plays, there getting killed in behind the net.
Toronto Goals:
#39 John Mitchell
#41 Nikolai Kulemin
Toronto Penalties
No Penalties
Carolina Goals:
No Scoring
Carolina Penalties:
#41 Andrew Alberts
3rd Period: Ladies and Gentleman there it is! We finally have our 2nd win of the season, now can we carry that momentum into tomorrow nights game against the Red Wings? We will see. Blake finally had himself a solid game and a after a shaky 1st Gustavsson played excellently.
Toronto Goals:
#55 Jason Blake
Toronto Penalties:
No Penalties
Carolina Goals:
No Scoring
Carolina Penalties:
#17 Rod Brindamour
