According to TSN the Toronto Maple Leafs tried to acquire Mathieu Schneider and Bobby Ryan last week for a conditional 09 Draft choice and 2 prospects.
The 1st round pick could be used only if it was not a top 6 otherwise the Ducks would have a 2010 1st rounder.
Brian Burke and the Ducks instead chose to take Atlanta's offer of Ken Klee, Brad Larsen, and Painchaud.
Now there is still word that the Leafs may still be trying to acquire Ryan but no word on if this is true or not. There is also talk of the Leafs looking to move a Dman to St,Louis.
